Used bottles, small bottles and jars are deposited in more than 200,000 green bins. Open 24 hours for you to activate the chain!
Here's where the journey begins! Green bins are monomaterial, that is, they are collected by lorries that only transport glass packaging waste. With only 2% of unsuitable waste, it is one of the secrets to guaranteeing a perfect recycling.
Glass packaging waste is separated, washed without water and crushed into small fragments: the cullet. Glass is fully recycled, and by means of this process, it is transformed into a resource.
The glass packaging manufacturers purchase the cullet to melt it and manufacture new glass packagings. By using this material, we avoid using raw material extracted from nature, we reduce CO2 emissions and we save energy.
Glass packaging is ready for packaging companies to fill them with their products. Ready to label and wear the Green Dot again!
The new glass packagings reach the bars, restaurants and shops of cities. This way, after buying and using them, we can recycle them and activate the chain again.
